I would like to first welcome everyone who is able to stop by and review my blog , I sure hope that the information I share is insightful.
When I reflect back to when my nephew was born, I remember going into the hospital three years ago getting excited to go , once arriving get scrubbed up so I was clean to be near the new born. I choose to share this experience because it is one experience , which I truly felt connected with our family. My sister in law had a difficult pregnancy , where by she was bed ridden the last 10 weeks. Having the family present to support the birth was vital for her emotional success. I was not surprised by how many infants are born in US hospital settings because, it is a setting which is controlled and if events should unfold, Medical support is in place. I remember it being a five hour labor and then the moment came and Austin was both , crying tears powerful bond among the family. When considering the importance on the being present with family for Austin early on the support in love from the family was in place from day one to help grow a solid child.
I reviewed what practices were like for our Northern Friends in Canada, some what similar to the us but increasing is Mid wife. The mid wide is a role which supports the mother in a natural setting. Similar the family is around but the impact in having the mother in a calm state verse a clinical hospital setting to decrease anxiety and stress for the new born. Family is vital and the the joy of a new life is similar but the practices and cultural traditions are different as with health care laws and regulations.
